History

The official date of foundation of the plant is June 28, 1937. The main purpose of the plant was the production of individual and collective means of protection.

The Great Patriotic War, evacuation and restoration, scientific and technical development - these are the stages of the life of the plant and its employees.

Currently, OJSC EHMZ named after N.D. Zelinsky is a modern enterprise that independently designs, manufactures and supplies filtering means for individual and collective protection, filtering cloth, catalysts, chemical absorbers, active carbons, etc.

The plant is the main supplier of personal and collective protection for the needs of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The personnel policy of the plant is aimed at forming a highly professional team of conscientious and qualified people.

1937

June 28, 1937 is the official date of foundation of OJSC EHMZ named after N.D. Zelinsky

1941

The production of military products started. In October, the plant was completely stopped. It was decided to evacuate the plant in Perm.

1945

After the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the restoration of the plant began.

The plant started developing the new types of products. In the first place - industrial gas masks, self-rescuers, absorber cupramite, carbogel, chemical equipment... And even gas masks for horses. One gas mask is kept in the museum of the plant.

1947

The production of the first self-rescuers OP-4 was arranged. In the late 40s of the 20th century there was a large-scale construction of housing for factory workers and their families, as well as social and cultural facilities.

In 1948, the factory club was opened. In front of the building there is a monument to the Liquidators and victims of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident.

1951

In just four years, the volume of production produced by the plant has increased almost three times. New production facilities are under construction. The company has mastered and introduced into production dozens of new products.

1961

When Yuri Gagarin flew into space, his equipment included a respirator made in our factory. Unfortunately, the respirator itself and its drawings have not been preserved.

1974

The range of products manufactured by the plant has reached 450 items. The most popular product in those years was the legendary civilian gas mask GP-5 and its analogues.

1976

In 1976, the plant was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

1980

For labor success, the enterprise team has been awarded the Red Banner four times. The plant is listed on the Wall of Honour.

1987

Khimprom (the name of the plant since 1982) merges into the Eleсtrostal research and production association Neorganika - Russia's largest scientific and technological center in the field of creating and organizing the production of filter-type respiratory protection products, filter materials, active carbons, chemical absorbers and catalysts.

On April 23, 1991, the Electrostal Chemical-Mechanical Plant left Neorganika.

1991-1996

The plant develops and implements the program of conversion of military production. For the release of civilian products, new sites are being created in the leading workshops of the enterprise.

1999

It was decided to create a quality management system that meets the requirements of ISO 9000 standards.

2001

The plant together with the Institute of Chemical Physics named after N.N. Semenova is developing a MOVG-600 catalytic converter for cleaning ventilation emissions from underground garages, tunnels and car parks.

2010

The company begins to actively buy modern imported equipment and improve its products.

The scientists of the company have developed a gas mask of a new generation with a flexible MP-3 mask.

2013

Near the plant there is a monument to the inventor of the first effective gas mask, an outstanding Russian scientist Nikolay Zelinsky. This is the only monument to the genius scientist in Russia. In the same 2013, the plant itself was given the name of Nikolay Zelinsky.

2018

From July 5, 2018, OJSC EHMZ named after N.D. Zelinsky became a part of the management organization Zelinsky Group Ltd., which brought together the leading Russian manufacturers of respiratory protection - JSC Sorbent, JSC Tambovmash, JSC Arti-Zavod and OJSC EHMZ named after N.D. Zelinsky.
